After mounting public pressure, the ABC appears set to keep Yassmin Abdel- Magied working for its network.
This should be viewed as unfortunate; given the inexplicable litany of falsehoods regarding Islam she recently spread on Q&A.
While some have perceived the petition calling for Yassmin Abdel- Magied’s sacking as a move to ‘suppress’ freedom of speech, it should be viewed throughs a different light.
The ABC is a publicly funded organisation, whose programs would not exist without taxpayer- funded dollars.
So while the Australian public are tolerant and generally receptive to different views, when they see something on a publicly funded network so obviously untrue, they object.
As if Yassmin Abdel- Magied wants to spew her Islamopologist, inaccurate garbage, she should have every right to to do so.
But she should find another platform besides our ABC, to excuse for seditious belief systems and actions.
Unfortunately the spineless ABC will take no such response, and this is much to the detriment of our national broadcaster.
Major Styles, the SJWs are being cultivated in the school system and in the media and arts/pop culture. It is a coordinated onslaught and we need to find a way to fight back.
Time to sack the ABC!
About time!
This sort of rubbish is what is destroying the media across the globe – and, in the name of practicing political correctness – they just don’t get what they are doing to themselves. They also fail to understand that it is actions like this that feed the growth of alternative media.
“The ABC is a publicly funded organisation, whose programs would not exist without taxpayer- funded dollars…”
PBS in the States, the BBC in Britain. It’s time to pull the plug on these left-wing programs that live on the dole.
I like things that the ABC does on sport, but something does need to happen as their leadership have shown no interest in maintaining any impartiality whatsoever.
Sad to hear that he SJWs have gained a strong foothold down under.
Yeah but that’s the world these days. Guess it’s up to us to do something about it!
