Last week, the so called ‘people’s Pope’, visited the Central African Republic, to spread a message of peace. In a besieged area of the country, which had witnessed much recent violence between Christians and Muslims, Pope Francis stated; ‘Christians and Muslims are brothers and sisters. We must therefore consider ourselves and conduct ourselves as such’. In the Pope’s stating of the importance of peace between different religious groups, he is fostering a positive message. In isolation, it is a message that should be applauded and admired by all good natured people.
These calls for peace, however, cannot be taken on face value. This is a Pope which pretends to be a major leader of Christianity, and presents himself as being a champion for peace activism.
Any achievement of peace, cannot occur unless 2 sides are consenting. Cries of peace directed towards a hostile and aggressive enemy, can only lead to further violence. Moreover, it is a treasonous and spineless action, betraying and abandoning millions of the world’s Christians.
Where has Pope Francis been, as millions of the Middle East’s Christians have been forced from their homes, persecuted, or killed? Where have the condemnations been, that a true leader must make?
In the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack, which left 12 people dead, after Islamists attempted to impose vigilante Sharia blasphemy laws, Pope Francis dismissed the right of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists to mock Muhammed, a psychopathic pedophile who is more than worthy of mocking. The Pope utterly deserted the 12 murdered cartoonists, when he stated;’All religions have dignity. I cannot mock a religion which respects human life and the human person’.
The Pope’s ultimate insanity came in May 2015, when he labelled Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, an ‘Angel of peace’. These term, came despite Abbas’ political party Fatah continuing its calls for violent resistance against Israeli citizens. In fact, during September, Abbas stated that the Jews, have no right to ‘defile it (the Al-Asqa mosque) with their filthy feet’. Abbas glorified Jihadis fighting against Israel, when he proclaimed;’Every martyr will reach paradise, and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah’.
Any reasonable person would agree with messages of peace, negotiation, and cross faith communication, under the correct circumstances. But the way in which Pope Francis has attempted to engage dialogue with the Muslim world, considering Islam’s continuing war on the world’s Christians among many things, is disastrous, and reflective of the current weakness of the West.
